There were thousands of eggs, but with hundreds of kids, each hunt lasted about three minutes. Sophie was with the 3-5 year olds and Maddie with the 6-8 year olds.

Sophie Time
Sophie and I generally rely on Madeline's ideas and energy to entertain us, but with her in school six hours a day, we've had to come up with some of our own ideas. We've managed to keep ourselves fairly busy. I usually spend a good part of the day applying to school systems, sending out cover letters and resumes, and researching possible neighborhoods and rentals in the DC suburbs. We almost always have to go to the grocery store since when you live on the third floor, you can only buy as many things as you can carry up in your two hands, and there is always laundry to do and a dog to walk. I also spend a little time every day helping Sophie with her reading. It's been fun and rewarding. I made this video a few weeks ago, and she has moved on to simple decodable stories since then.

After the museum, we hung out on the mall for awhile. It was a cold day, and Sophie was none too happy about that. After pouting while her cousins played, she took a nap in Kent's coat. He got quite a workout carrying her back to the metro station at the end of the day.
