In Loving Memory of Chloe

We are sad to announce the death of a dear pet and family member. Chloe died last night at home, surrounded by the ones who loved her most. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We are thinking about you, Jessie and Adam.

Chloe was always so patient and kind with Maddie. She let Maddie give her a Christmas kiss in 2004.

Father's Day 2006

We spent Father's Day at the Beach with Jessie and Adam. This time we went to Santa Monica, then returned home for a barbeque.

Sixth Month Bump

Here's me early in my sixth month of pregnancy. It's hard to believe I have about 3 1/2 months to go! So far, this pregnancy seems to be flying by . . .

A Trip to the Library

I took Maddie to the library last week to pick out some new reading materials. She loved returning her books and sitting at the little tables. Her current favorite author: Eric Carle.

Good Night Story

Last night, Maddie fell asleep while I was reading her a bed time story. That was the first time she had ever done that, so I had to capture the moment.

Mornings with Mommy

While Kent was out of town last week, Maddie and I enjoyed some early mornings together. Since she is usually sleeping when I leave for work, it was nice to be able to dress her up and do her hair each day. We picked out lots of dresses and fun hair accessories before daycare each day. However, by Friday morning, I was more than happy to return to our old schedule for a little extra shut eye! We missed Daddy so much!

A Day In Riverside

We went to Riverside to spend the day with Aunt Jessie and Uncle Adam. While the boys played golf in the 100 degree heat, the girls enjoyed some time at the park.

Aunt Jessie is more fun than Mommy!

Beach Baby

We spent Memorial Day at Zuma Beach near Malibu. It is only a 30 minute drive, and at a cost of seven dollars for parking, it is inexpensive entertainment for a toddler. Maddie had a great time and didn't want to go home. We were a little disappointed that we didn't see any dolphins today, but other than that, it was a great way to start off summer.

A Fish Out of Water

Maddie's favorite part of the day was jumping in the waves. Kent and I had to take turns taking her down to the water. We haven't heard her laugh and shriek so much in a long time.

Fun in the Sun (and Sand)!

Lunch Time

Maddie enjoyed her favorite meal, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

All Tired Out

The best part of any day? Naptime! Maddie fell right to sleep on the way home.

Me, Maddie, and . . .

Me, Maddie, and Sophie Nicole. At least that is our current name choice for our second baby girl. I am a little over 20 weeks in this picture and feeling great. Knock on wood, this pregnancy has been sooooo easy. Maddie is sporting an original hair-do a la Daddy. She is 2 years, 9 months old, 33 pounds, and 38 inches tall.

L.A. Zoo

Last weekend Kent, Maddie, and I went to the L.A. Zoo. We saw a baby giraffe and a baby orangutan (our favorite). Maddie loved brushing the goats, too.

Success at Last!

She finally did it! Those of you without toddlers will most likely be a bit grossed out, but the rest of you will understand our excitement. Maddie finally poo-pooed on the potty today! We are so proud! She's been using the potty to peepee for over a year, but was very resistent to anything else. As promised for about six months now, she got to pick something from the 7-11. The chocholate ice-cream cone she picked was $2.29. Can't you buy a whole carton for about the much?

The Week in Review . . .

On to more postive things! Here are some recent pictures of my sweet girl who has been soaking up the sunshine! It is getting hot! She loves water and one of her current favorite toys is a spray bottle filled with water. In one picture, Daddy had to climb our tree to escape her! She is all registered to start preschool part-time this summer and swim lessons at the Y.

Mother's Day 2006

Today is Mother's Day, and I am creating a place where I can share some pictures and updates of our growing family. It is something I have wanted to do for a couple of years and am finally getting to. Maddie and I spent some time today looking at her old pictures, and here are a few of my favorites.
