Sweet Dreams

Another milestone! Both girls fell peacefully asleep in the same room tonight. This will be Sophie's first night in the crib, and I suspect it will be easier for her than it will be for me.

Sophie at 3 Months (almost)

Sophie will be 12 weeks old tomorrow and 3 months old on the 6th of January. This is about the time I returned to full time work with Maddie, so I am really appreciating every day of leave until I return to work in late February. She has a predictable schedule now which is quite nice. She wakes between 7:30 and 8 in the morning, takes a cat nap around 9:30, a 2-3 hour nap around noon, and a couple more cat naps during the evening hours. She usually has her last feeding at 8:30 and goes to bed at 9:00. She wakes up once during the early morning hours, around 4:30 to eat before going back to bed.

She still sleeps in her bassinet in our room. I keep thinking I am going to move her into the crib, but it is so nice not having to get out of bed to feed her. Madeline made her laugh a few days ago which was so cute. She rolled over from her tummy to her back at about 8 weeks, but hasn't really had a chance to practice much. Whenever I put her on her tummy, she is usually content to suck on the backs of her hands. She loves her floor gym and swing, but is not so into her papasan chair anymore. She doesn't go back to see her doctor until 4 months, but I am guessing her weight at about 12 pounds.

More Christmas

We opened more presents yesterday with our family in Northern Virginia via webcam. Here's Maddie wearing one of her new dress up outfits and me wearing a beautiful new necklace with a circular pendant. Thanks everyone for our awesome gifts. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

One More . . .

Elmo was a huge hit. Thanks Grandma Connie!

What about Me?

Hey! Where are my presents?

Christmas Morning

Madeline got so many fun things: a doll with a walker, a doll crib, a doctor's kit, a tool kit, a phonics game, clothes . . . It's time for Mommy to go through the closets and toy boxes to make room!

While Visions of Sugar Plums Danced in Her Head

Maddie and I sprinkled food on the lawn for the reindeer and left out some cookies and chocholate milk. Then Santa went to work . . .

So Much To Celebrate

We are feeling so blessed this year. We have two beautiful girls and a wonderful extended family that continues to grow! We are so excited to meet 2 new first cousins in the next few months, and we're so thrilled for Aunt Dawn and Tim who just got engaged. Congratulations!!!!!!!! We think you guys make an awesome couple, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness. Wish I could hug you both!

The Titans are making Daddy very very happy, too.

We're Going to Disneyland!

Madeline experienced Disneyland for the first time yesterday. It was a lovely day and the park was decked out for Christmas. She loved the tea cup ride best with It's a Small World making a close second. The parade was a huge hit with her, too.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Grandma Mel and Grandpa Dean treated us to a fun and memorable day at Disneyland. Thank you! Thank you! What a wonderful time we all had.

Hold On Emmet!

What a sport! Aunt Jessie, Uncle Adam, and 30 week old Emmet enjoyed plenty of rides.

Lazy Morning

With all of the shopping and shipping completed, Maddie and I have decided that all of us girls will stay in our jammies all day. Here Maddie is making a fort for Sophie to "protect her from the bears."
It seems both girls now have similar schedules. They both go to bed between 8 and 9 pm, then wake up between 7 and 8 am. For the past 3 days, Sophie has only gotten up once, around 4:30 am to eat, so I can just about consider her "through the night."

Christmas Cuties

Some Family Pics

Jessie, Adam, and the Baby

Jessie and Adam visited today for an early holiday celebration. Here they are with their two babies: Emmet (29 weeks), Nyala (two years). Check out their present to Maddie this year; it is a bit larger than they thought. I'm fighting a losing battle for our living room.

Sprinkles

Madeline and I made Christmas cookies today. Madeline went a little crazy with the sprinkles while I tended to Sophie for a few minutes.

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,
I have been very, very good this year. Just ask my Mommy!

Mommy Moment

I tried to put Soph to bed in her big girl bed (the crib) last night, but she wasn't having it. After about 30 minutes, I moved her back to her bassinet in my room. Ok, I guess she's getting a bit spoiled!

It's Leroy!

Here's our first baby, Leroy. He's still around even though he doesn't get much blog action. Kent says I "kicked him to the curb" once Maddie came along; I guess he's right.
