Beating the Heat

It has been around 110 degrees for the past week and pretty unbearable. Going to the beach seems to be the only way for us to escape, so we headed to Malibu with Jess and Adam. We were actually pretty chilly at the coast and got to see some raindrops and lightening before returning home.

Maddie is so filthy after a day at preschool and the sand box that we have had to go back to bathing her everyday.

Happy Birthday Andrew!

Maddie helped Andrew celebrate his third birthday Friday evening. She had so much fun! First there was swimming, followed by pizza, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, a pinata, birthday cake, and some play time for all the kids.

Mommy's Big Girl!

Maddie had so much fun at school. When Kent and I went to pick her up, she didn't want to come home with us. She is already asking to go back tomorrow.

First Day of Preschool!

Today is Maddie's first day of preschool. I can't believe how old she is getting. I was a bit sad to see her looking and acting so much like a "big girl." Not Maddie, though. She was excited and said, "I want to stay here for a long time" when Kent and I dropped her off. She gave us both a kiss, a hug, and not a single tear.

Our Little Sparkler

We celebrated July 4th with some of our friends and family. Uncle Adam and Aunt Jessie stayed with us Monday night, then we were joined Tuesday by Carrie, Kelly, and Murphy, and Ryan and Carrie for a yummy barbeque. We feasted on ribs, chicken, steak, homemade cole slaw and lots of other goodies. Maddie had a blast entertaining us all.
