Ethan's New Home

Madeline, Sophie, and I spent the day with Ethan and his family at their new house. It is beautiful, inside and out.

I want French doors, too!

Maddie passed on her turn to box, but it sure was fun watching Ethan!

Roly-Poly Baby

Sophie is getting so big and round! She has lots of new nicknames: chubba-wubba (we are suck dorks!), Roly-Poly, and Thunder Thighs to name a few. I can't imagine what she'll weigh in at next week at her six month appointment. I am guessing around 17 pounds. She is as happy as ever, and Betty calls her "an angel."

Valley Girl

Like, I am totally ready for Hollywood . . .

Meeting Milo

We spent last Sunday at Carrie's so Kent could meet baby Milo.

Loved the hair, Milo!

My big helper! Don't feel left out, Murphy!

The Zoo, Again

We made it to the zoo, again. It is one of my favorite places to take the kids. This trip was extra special because our best friend Carrie and our newest friend Milo came, too.

Milo

Month old Milo's first trip to the zoo. I think he liked it!

The Bird Show

We didn't see as many animals as we usually do, but we did see the bird show for the first time. Here Maddie is climbing the bleachers and enjoying the train.

It's Friday . . .

It's Friday, and look how the girls are feeling as we arrive home from work and Betty's . . .

A wired Sophie and a sleepy Maddie. The weekend is off to a great start. Sophie slept 11 hours last night, and I slept 10 (sweet sweet sleep). Kent just arrived home with donuts for breakfast. The weather forcast is great. Maddie will be signed up for soccer today, and we might make it to the zoo.

Computer Geek

Maddie has gotten quite good at using a mouse. Her favorite site is Sesame street.

Studio Rats

Madeline loves being in the studio with her Daddy. She performs and records songs she writes herself. Kent has so many recordings of her. Maybe one day we'll share them with different T.V. shows, when she's famous. Ha, Ha. She has expressed interest in being on American Idol, the show she calls "the one with the funny singers on it." She plans to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle little star."

Congratulations Dawn and Tim!

I finally have some pictures to post of my beautiful sister-in-law and her incredible new husband! Congratulations Dawn and Tim! It ever two people were meant to be together, these are the ones!

Kent and Maddie flew 3000 miles together for the special event. I stayed behind with Sophie, who was fresh out of the hospital and not quite ready for travel. Maddie looked adorable and did a great job carrying the rings.

Summer Evenings

Here's where we spend most of our evenings, outside. The weather has been so nice that it feels like summer although it's only March.

Pool Time

It's getting hot out here. It has been 80-90 degrees in Southern California for the past week, so when we went to Riverside to see our new nephew, Maddie had her usual splash in the pool.

Eleven Day Old Emmet

I thought Sophie was a sleepy, chilled out baby, but Emmet takes the cake. He is such a sweetie. Madeline has given him her stamp of approval.

Eleven day old Emmet greets five month old Sophie.

My New Favorite Picture

I love Saturday mornings, especially after working all week. Finally, some extra time for blogging! Things are good around here. I am enjoying my job and have had a much easier transition back to work this time around. Maybe it's because I took five months off this time or perhaps it's because June doesn't seem very far away. It might be Betty who told me Friday afternoon that it was a pleasure for her take care of my girls. They sure are beautiful, amazing kids.

Soccer Season

I never could talk Maddie into ballet class. She is really excited about soccer, though. Kent and I swore our kids wouln't play soccer because of the early Saturday mornings they require. It's funny how things change.

Cutie Pie

Sophie loves her playmat. She rolled over from her back to her stomach on her five month birthday.

Grandma Connie

Sophie got to spend some time with her Grandparents last weekend while I visited Baby Emmet.
Grandma Connie hadn't seen her since she was about two weeks old.

Sophie sure has changed. She is five months old now and making up for all that lost time while she was sick last month. She seems to be thriving now. That appetite of hers is back. When Kent took her to her appointment this week, she was up to 16 pounds. One month ago with her virus, she was in the 13 pound range!

Home Sweet Home

One Lucky Baby

This is one lucky baby. What incredible parents he has. They are so relaxed and full of love.

Emmet is two days old, and guess how many diapers Jessie has changed? None! Emmet has a calmness to him, much like his dad.

Now where in the world did he get those long legs?

Introducing Emmet

I'd like everyone to meet my new nephew, Emmet. He was born March 1 and weighed in at 8 pounds 9 ounces. He is adorable, as you can clearly see!

I think that's a smile on his sweet little happy face.
Ahhhhhh, so cute. He finds being out of the womb so exhausting!
