Santa and the Zoo

We made our annual trip to the zoo to see Santa and his reindeer on Saturday. Madeline asked me later, "Why did Santa ask me what my sister's name was?" Oh, the questions about Santa are getting difficult! This was the first year that I couldn't coax Sophie into a picture, such a bummer! Kent snapped the one below so at least I have a picture of her somewhat near Santa.

Here is a cute picture of Madeline and Milo wearing their antlers. Try as I might, I couldn't capture one of all three kids looking in the right direction.

The reindeer came to the zoo with Santa. That's what the girls are looking at here.

A Few of My Favorite Things

1. Sophie's new glasses.

2. Baking with my girls. Madeline and I have a plan to make a different cookie each weekend until Christmas, and we started today. We made almond cookies with royal icing, and Madeline used the extra dough to make the people in her family. The one pictured below is Kent.

3. Something else I love, my wedding china. After 10 years, I still love the pattern. This is a picture of our table set for Thanksgiving dinner.

A Pre-Thanksgiving Feast

We had a great day! Kent and I were able to visit Madeline during her school's Thanksgiving feast. It was so nice to see her in the middle of the day and to spend some special time with her! A real treat for this working mama!

The kids got to choose to dress as either pilgrims or Native Americans. As you can see, Madeline chose to be a pilgrim.

Some of our friends that we are sooooo thankful for: Natalie, Andrew, Alexis, and Sarah Jane!

Madeline convinced me to stay for a little bit of playground time:
Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone! Hope your Turkey Day is filled with family, friends, and good food!

New Glasses and a Birthday Party

Sophie has a new pair of glasses! What do you think? Kent and I decided to try some plastic frames this time since we had to replace the nose pads so often with her metal ones. She loves them!

We have entered this new phase with birthday parties. Both girls are getting invites from their friends at school, but both girls are not invited to the same parties which creates both excitement and disappointment in our home depending on who got the invite. This weekend, Sophie was invited to Kennedy's third birthday party. Madeline was disappointed, but cheered up by a trip to the driving range with her Daddy, their new favorite hangout. Madeline even got a new driver!
