Go Sophie!!

One of the best parts of the holiday weekend was Sophie learning to ride her bike!! It has taken a lot of coaxing, but she is finally riding the bike she got a year and a half ago!

Memorial Day Weekend 2014

We squeezed a lot into our weekend, especially considering we were battling a stomach bug! The virus has taken out 3 of the 4 of us so far, with myself being the only one unaffected.

In the picture above, Madeline was practicing for her upcoming band concert. She has really enjoyed learning to play the tuba this year, and her teacher has commented that Maddie has shown some talent for the instrument. I think she'll stick with it next year.

Once Sophie came down with the bug, Madeline made her this sweet card. It melted my heart! Sure they argue as much as any siblings do, but they really are close and spend a ton of time enjoying each other's company.

We went on a mini-camping trip to a nearby park. Our friends even joined us! The pictures below are post Sophie's bug, but pre-bug Maddie. We were able to make it to our neighborhood pool two times, and tomorrow, we begin summer swim team. Stay tuned!

Annie Jr.!

After auditions and months of practice, our school's chorus put on an adorable production of Annie Jr. I have no videos due to copyright laws, but a mom was able to capture some great pictures to share. The kids performed four shows this week, and as a teacher, I was able to see three of them!

Cousin Visit

Uncle Josh and family were in the area last weekend for a friend's baby shower. We were able to squeeze in a couple hours of time together. The girls loved playing with their cousins!

Medieval Day!

I truly love having my girls at school with me every day! I feel like I never miss a thing.  One of the biggest events in fifth grade is the celebration of Medieval Day. It was so awesome to have Maddie with me this year.  Along with the help of our dedicated parent volunteers, we go all out to make the day memorable for the kids. The kids work on medieval crafts at home to barter with.  They dress in costume. They come to school and spend the day creating relic boxes, tapestries, gargoyles, lancing, and dancing.
