In honor of the Jewish New Year, I didn't have to work today!!!! I woke up with a slight fever and a few aches, but was determined to something fun and out of the valley where temperatures were predicted to reach over 100 degrees. Since we only took the kids to the beach once this year, that is what we decided to do. Kent and Maddie made a sand castle, and Sophie and I mostly hung out in the sand. Sophie didn't get to nap until around 4:00 pm, but she remained in a decently agreeable mood.
Madeline has been on cloud nine since gymnastics last night. Her coach said she was ready to move up to the next level: Mighty Girls! We'll likely have gymnastics on Thursdays rather than Mondays, which I think will fit into our schedule better. Madeline wanted to be the one to destroy her castle. She figured it would happen after we returned home anyway (see below).
