A (small) Taste of Fall

My school district closes for Yom Kippur in lieu of Columbus Day; therefore, I got a three day weekend and didn't have to work today! We finally had a cooler day, mid 80's which is basically fall for us, so the girls and I headed to Griffith Park with hopes of carousel and pony rides. However, we quickly figured out that it was still actually a weekday and the activities we desired were closed. Since we were at the park anyway, we headed to the zoo. We had sooo much fun, despite the fact that I hadn't worn appropriate "zoo shoes" or brought our stroller. The girls feasted on churros and slushies for lunch, and Madeline noted what a "lucky" day it was. The animals were really active; they must have been enjoying the cooler weather, too!

The sea lions were putting on a show for Sophie, and she kept turning around laughing as if I hadn't noticed.
