Weekly Wrap-up

We really had a busy week. I had parent conferences on Tuesday and Thursday, working 9 hours one day and 11 hours the other.

Friday night, we attended Sophie's open house at preschool. We loved looking at all of Sophie's "artwork," and Madeline enjoyed seeing all of her old teachers. The school is warm, cozy and has an incredibly nurturing atmosphere. Sophie's teacher says she is easy going and an active participant in their activities. She can identify her name and most letters of the alphabet.  She can also do a lovely rendition of Brown Bear, Brown which I made a video of and will post later.

Kent and I attended Madeline's conference last week.  Her report card said she "shows strength in music" and "is a creative thinker."  We need to continue to review sight words with her, but her teacher was impressed with her writing and use of invented spellings.
